FLORIDA ELITE YOUTH FOOTBALL LEAGUE OVERVIEW
Florida Elite Teams and Locations
Southwest Florida Football is here to offer all needed information for the Florida Elite Youth Football League (FLE). FLE offers top-tier non-Pop Warner-affiliated programs in SWFL. Here you can see what teams are in which county we cover.
Lee County Teams
Lee County contains most teams that we cover for Florida Elite. The newest addition to Florida Elite is the Fort Myers Fellowship Lions. They were once part of Peace River but have switched with the Falcons for the 2022 season. We also have the PAL Stingrays which are more focused on the downtown Fort Myers area. The top team in Florida Elite for a while now in Lee County has been the Cypress Lake Hornets.
Collier County Teams
Collier County offers 1 organization that is associated with Florida Elite, the Golden Gate Titans.
Hendry County Teams
Hendry County offers no organization that is associated with Florida Elite.
Charlotte County Teams
Charlotte County offers no organization that is associated with Florida Elite.
Sarasota County Teams
Sarasota County offers 1 team that is associated with Florida Elite, the Sarasota Seminoles.
Divisions
FLE has two divisions that essentially separate the lesser experienced teams. Division 1 is considered a harder level of play and faces the top-level teams from around the area in the regional and national tournaments. Division 2 has a good mix of teams in it as well. Some teams honestly should be Division 1, but for space and location purposes they are not. Click below for more information on all teams in each division.
Playoff System
Florida Elite just started offering Division 1 and Division 2 style play. While we thought it may be similar to PRC we have come to find out it really doesn’t mean much as everyone still plays each other. Not sure what they were going for there. Florida Elite in the past has been set up closely with the NFL model of the playoffs. We expect them to keep up with this. In each grouping of 4-5 teams, a winner has crowned for the 6U, 8U, 10U, 12U, and 14U age levels. Those winners are entered into the Florida Elite Playoff system. Those teams compete until 2 teams remain. They call it the Super Bowl.
Age Requirments
Florida Elite youth football age levels in play are 6U, 8U, 10U, 12U, and 14U (all being scored). These divisions basically mean anyone can play for the 6U team as long as they are 6 and under, weight is not a factor. Teams require the child to be at least 5 years old. The normal cutoff date is July 31st of each year for deciding what age level they would play that season.
